Man, this photo brings tears to my eyes.

Ever heard the Final Roll Call for a fallen friend, waiting for them to answer when their name is called as your eyes fill up with tears? If you haven’t, pray you never do.

I wrote this poem is for all my brothers gained and lost in this war…

Brothers do as brothers do,
When all is on the line.
Strong as blood, binding glue;
Love for brothers mine.

Angry words and tempers flare,
No words for days on end.
Still knowing they’ll be there,
It’s this that I’ll defend.

Silently waiting for death’s advance,
Tonight, we stand as one.
Forgiven all, with just a glance,
Until the battle’s done

Choices gone, it’s out I go;
One chance to do this right.
Perfect aim and perfect throw
Won’t save my life tonight.

They all know that I’ll come through;
Their lives I’ll save with mine
Brothers do as brothers do,
When all is on the line.

I hope it never comes to that but I know I would give my life for the guys I fight beside. Anyone who’s been there knows we go for our country but we fight for our brothers.
